Challenge 3

Some of the difficulties were, the computer was acting up, and our group was arguing a little.
Todays date is March 19, 2009 in this challenge we had to take notes and put them into the wiki.
Some of the notes were; The circulatory system has the heart pumping blood through the body, so if we didn't have a circulatory system, our blood wouldn't be able to get anywhere in our bodies and we couldnt live! The circulatory system pumps blood so oxygen and nutrients could get to the important body parts that need it.

John - How many times does a human heart pump per second?
Alex - What is the most important body system in the human body?
Dan - What happens if the circulatory system stops working?
Katie C - What is blood made of?

Patient Name: Candy Kane

Diagnosis :( Disease and definition of the disease) You have type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a life-long disease that occurs when the body doesn’t respond in the correct way to insulin, a hormone released by the pancreas.

(How can the disease be treated?)
The primary treatment is to exercise and diet, but you can also take diabetes medications or insulin therapy.

(What is the outlook for this patient? What advice do you have for your patient?) Dr. Dan said that the outlook is that it is possible to get all better if you make certain life style changes but if you don’t you could have to live with it your whole life. Dr. John said to exercise and to diet and try not to overeat. You can also take diabetes medications or insulin therapy to control your blood sugar. Dr. Alex said that we have noticed you spend a lot of time watching television it would help you to walk a mile everyday.
